2.7

This is our last week of doing blogs and man does it feel good. Kyra and I have been preparing for our dance to perform for you guys and we think we have it figured out for the most part. We are going to do a variety of each dance that we learned for roughly thirty seconds. We are a little nervous because we haven’t performed in front of anyone yet so hopefully it goes smoothly.

Our performance is going to mostly to be the country jitterbug just because it’s probably the best dance and the most entertaining that we have. Hopefully it goes smoothly and my hand doesn’t pop all the time when I’m spinning Kyra around and around. We both really have enjoyed this genius hour and it’s been a blast to dance with someone who is willing to learn as Kyra.

Kyra has been enjoying to be with and just learn with. Sometimes I’ll scar Kyra however by just looking at her while we are dancing instead of looking at our feet to get the moves. Dancing has been really enjoying and fun and I’m glad I’ll have knowledge for the rest of my life. Thank you Kyra!!!

2.6

Hello bloggers, for this week Kyra and I reviewed what we accomplished last week. We went over the simple square, the triple step, the rock step and then we performed the foxtrot. These moves were simple and easy after we practiced them all last week. Kyra has videos on her blog off how we move our feet for all of those dance moves.

For next weeks genius hour, we are going to work on the jitterbug more. We are going to try and speed up our footwork and moves to help us. We aren't gonna post a video of it because we are going to use that dance for our Ted-talk.

Blog 2.5

Hello bloggers, week five was very successful for Kyra and I. We stared learning some ballroom dance: we practiced the basic square, the rock step, and the triple step. We were able to learn these dances easily and had fun performing them.

You-Tube was a great resource for us in being able to learn these dances. They showed the moves first separately and then showed how to come together and move together with the moves and it was very handy. The names of the moves we learned really just describes how to move the like the triple step is three steps to one side. Then the rock step is where you rock back and forth.

We are having fun with this genius hour and learning many things each week. I am really glad this is my genius hour project.
